SPECIAL needs workers will receive a pay increase after school staff threatened to strike.

Twenty-nine support workers at Little Heath Foundation School in Hainault Road will have their salaries increased by be between £1,500 and £2,000 a year.

Although the GMB union had initially been pushing for an extra £2,500, the agreement was reached after a planned walk-out was called off last week.

Workers accused the council of paying staff in similar roles at other Redbridge schools more money.
