A GREAT grandfather has been left 'at the end of his tether' after receiving a flood of unwanted post advertising penis enlargements and other sexual help treatments during the past two years.

Edward Hughes, 79, said he is disgusted by many of the leaflets mailed to him by herbal remedies firm, Elite Fulfillment, from its office in Liston Way, Woodford Green - which advertise anything from pills designed to assist with sexual arousal, to 'penile patches.'

The retired journalist and lecturer has been bombarded with adverts from the company ever since moving to his current home in County Durham two years ago - which he said have continued to arrive despite him asking for them to stop and sending leaflets back with angry messages written on them.

He said: "I've had enough. Some of the things they advertise are just filth in my view.

"I'm nearly 80-years-old, the last thing I'm interested in is a penis enlargement.

"They ask you things like 'do you want to be a stallion?', and my answer is no, I'm too old for all that.

"I've been receiving the adverts since I moved in. They were originally addressed to the man who lived here before me, but he's been dead for several years now.

"I wrote to them to tell them to stop and I got a phone call from someone who agreed, but asked for my name.

"I'm now receiving adverts with my name on."

Mr Hughes, who used to teach journalism at Harlow College and worked for The Times and the Daily Mail during his long career, said he plans to complain to the Office of Fair Trading if the leaflets continue to arrive.

He said: "I simply don't have time to deal with all of this post and I find much of it offensive.

"I am writing my memoirs at the moment and it takes up lots of my time and energy getting to the post office to send these things back.

"I've got so angry I've written things on them like 'damn you people to hell, will you stop?'"

"I'm reaching the end of my tether."

Elite Fulfillment, which also advertises a range of other herbal treatments from breast enlargements to insomnia, has yet to comment.
