ONE of the vehicles at a builder's merchants has been given an eye-catching paint job as part of a forthcoming charity week.
An 18-tonne crane lorry at the South Woodford branch of Travis Perkins, in Marlborough Road, has been resprayed pink as the company prepares to hold it's annual fundraising events – which this year will benefit the Breast Cancer Campaign and Children's Hospices charity.
The branch's assistant manager, Stuart Day, said: “The plan is to travel the local area dishing out awareness cards and carrying a collection bucket for any donations.
"The company as a whole lends itself to a charity week where every branch in the Travis Perkins Group - over 1,200 branches - gets involved in raising funds for charity by conducting raffles, on-line auctions, fun-days - normally at Rockingham raceway - and lots more."
The company's fundraising week starts on Monday February 22.
