PATRONS, trustees and staff attended the re-opening of two newly refurbished facilities at a hospice for sick children this afternoon (Tuesday).

The freshly renovated 'Butterfly Suite' and family accommodation were unveiled in front of a group of specially invited guests at Haven House Children's Hospice, in Woodford Green at 2pm.

A spokesman for the hospice, in Mallinson Park - which provides care and support for children with life limiting conditions and their families - said: "The Butterfly Suite is the bereavement service for those that have used Haven House and also for (the families of those) who have died at home or in a tertiary hospital.

"The family accommodation provides a two bedroom self contained apartment for those parents or carers and their families wishing to stay with their children at the hospice.

"This work has been completed thanks to the generosity of Galliard Homes, the former Mayor of Redbridge, Councillor Loraine Sladden and the Seven Kings Lions."
