THE POSSIBILITY of relocating the borough's further education college will be discussed at a council meeting next week.
Members of Redbridge Council's cabinet will cast their eyes over a report into the possibility of the former Seven Kings Car Park and Lorry Park being developed, and Redbridge College has recently expressed an interest in the site.
The site had been looked at as an alternative to the Cricklefields site in Ilford as the possible location of a long-awaited new leisure centre for west of the borough.
Councillors will also consider evidence that the site may be susceptible to flooding, according to the Environment Agency, and will have to be assessed carefully before any work is carried out.
The council's regeneration experts say the current 'Ilford Pool' site, as Cricklefields has become known, is a cheaper and easier option for a leisure centre, while developing the Seven Kings site would benefit the surrounding area.
The council's cabinet will meet at Ilford Town Hall on Tuesday, September 7, at 7:15pm.
