A CATHOLIC school is ready to celebrate the Pope visiting the UK and a former pupil will be meeting him.
Trinity High School, in Mornington Road, Woodford Green, has a handful of events planned for later this month to mark the historic event.
On September 16 there will be a special prayer and celebration event at the school in honour of the visit.
Also that day former pupil James Bainbridge, a 22-year-old art graduate, is set to unveil a painting of the Pope which is likely to be hung in the school's main hall.
On September 17 there is a celebration of catholic education at St Mary's University, Twickenham, and the school has about 10 pupils attending.
Paschal Uche, who left the school last summer, is set to attend a mass at Westminter Cathedral on September 18, where he is set to welcome the Pope.
Finally, later that evening, 50 representatives of the school will be at the open air prayer vigil at Hyde Park.
Rick Law, a spokesman for the school, said: "As it happens I'm not a catholic myself, but something like this generates so much interest because the Pope is such a major figure.
"There will certainly be a buzz around the school."
