PUPILS rubbed shoulders with the stars after being nominated for a national film award.
The students from Wanstead High School attended the prestigious First Light Film Awards after being nominated as Filmclub of the Year with only two other schools.
The awards, presented by TV's Nick Grimshaw, were attended by stars including director Sir Alan Parker and actors Dougray Scott and Michelle Ryan.
Filmclub was set up in 2008 to encourage young people to watch, discuss and review movies. Members of Wanstead High's Filmclub have been able to make their own animated and silent films and attanded the premiere of Toy Story 3.
Sixth former Inderpreet Lakhanpal, 17, said: “I was overjoyed. I was really pleased at our school’s achievement, and for me running the club and being in the top three clubs in the country makes me feel that I have really achieved something. It’s been great since it was announced. Friends keep telling me how amazing it is.”
