WANSTEAD: Tennis club celebrates 90th anniversary

A LAWN tennis club will celebrate its 90th anniversary this weekend with an open day for all non-members.

The Drummon Lawn Tennis Club, in Nutter Lane, Wanstead, will hold the open day on Saturday (May 7) all day.

Its head coach, Zoard, will be in attendance and last year was honoured at the Essex Mini Tennis Awards, where he was commended for his coaching programmes.

The club has been a community hub since 1921 when it was formed by members of St Mary’s Church and Christchurch congregations.
