TALENTED young artists from Bancroft’s school in Woodford Green have been helping raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital by designing their own monster for a new book.

Eleanor Channer (8), Priya Datta (9), Alice Bolitho (10) and Rachel Orrell (11), teamed up with children’s author Clark Beecroft, to create a scary creature who they named One Eyed Swirl, for a book which will be released at Christmas.

Mr Beecroft’s visit to the Redbridge school is part of a London-wide tour in which he aims to collect one drawing from a primary school in each of the capital’s 32 boroughs.

He then plans to ask professional children’s illustrators to recreate the monsters for the unique project which he says will make an ideal stocking filler for little monsters everywhere.

All proceeds from sales of the book will go to Great Ormond Street, helping make a difference to the lives of sick children.
