WOODFORD GRN: Shop assistant through to Miss Essex final

A SHOP assistant has described her shock at making it through to the final of the Miss Essex competition.

Abigail Clarke, 20, of Montalt Road in Woodford Green, was one of only 25 who made it through to the final of the beauty competition that will be held in Chigwell in March.

The winner will qualify for the final of the Miss England competition, only one step away from the final of Miss World.

Ms Clarke, who works in Bond Street, London, and also as a makeup artist, said: “I really did not expect to get to the last 25.

“My friends entered me for it and I did not know I was in until I got a letter.

“There is a lot of competition but I am just going to go in to the final and be myself and enjoy it.”
