BARKINGSIDE: Post mortem reveals teenage girl killed in high street flat was strangled

A TEENAGE girl whose body was found in a flat was strangled, a post mortem has revealed.

A 21-year-old man was arrested after the body of the 17-year-old, who has not been named, was discovered in a property above Buy Labels for Less in High Street, Barkingside.

He remains in custody, but police are refusing to reveal what he is being held on suspicion of.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance at 4pm on Monday (February 7).

The victim was found alive but paramedics were unable to save her and she died at the scene.

Police believe they know the identity of the girl and next of kin have been informed.

Formal identification is yet to take place.
