A SECOND man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl.
The body of the 17-year-old, who has not yet been named, was found by police on Tuesday (February 7) after they were called to reports of a disturbance at 4pm in a property above Buy Labels for Less in High Street, Barkingside.
A post mortem revealed she had been strangled.
The victim was found alive but paramedics were unable to save her and she died at the scene.
A 21-year-old man arrested after the incident was released today (February 10) without charge.
Police were granted permission by a judge to continue to hold the man without charge on Thursday morning.
A second man was arrested this morning and remains in custody.
Detectives believe the murder was a domestic incident, but say they are keeping an open mind about the circumstances of the murder.
Police believe they know the identity of the girl and next of kin have been informed.
She is expected to be formally identified today.
