VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help clear a park before its Roman ruins can be surveyed.
The Wanstead Parklands Community Project is asking for help in clearing scrubland north of Wanstead Park’s Perch Pond to help locate the remains of a lost Roman villa.
Work will begin at 10am on Wednesday, February 22, and could continue for the following two days.
Please email wanstead.parklands@googlemail.com to advise you are attending and bring a waterproof, strong knee height boots and gardening gloves.
Although tools will be provided they may be in high demand so bring a lopper and a bow saw if you have them. The group will meet at the kiosk.

Please don't tell me they are going to chop down trees with bow saws on this wild goose chase?
