A MILKSHAKE parlour where a man was shot is to reopen this weekend.
Cakes and Shakes in Woodford Green will reopen under new management on Saturday, February 25 after its former co-owner, James Bryant, was shot twice in the chest in front of his mother in the shop entrance last November.
The shop in High Road will now be run by a team including a man called Ali Rashid, who has said he hopes to work with the community and provide jobs for local young people, while having a strict stance on anti-social behaviour.
Two men have been charged over the incident that left Mr Bryant fighting for his life in hospital before he was discharged in January.
Temidire Owolabi, 21, of no fixed address, formerly of Brandon Close, Chafford Hundred in Grays, Essex, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Owolabi’s co-defendant is Romaine Arthur, 22, of Hazel Way in Chingford.
He was arrested and charged on January 25 with perverting the course of justice, witness intimidation and conspiracy to murder.
They are due to enter pleas on March 21, with a trial pencilled in for May 8.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested and bailed until March 21 in connection with the shooting.
