DRIVERS in Wycombe district must be amongst the rudest, most thoughtless and most thoroughly bad tempered drivers in the whole of the UK.
The concept of giving way is almost unknown, and rarely practised. Drivers on main roads just will not allow drivers on side roads to filter in, even if the traffic is absolutely crawling.
They queue around main roundabouts and over small ones, across junctions, side roads and entrances; they ignore keep clear markings and wait in junction boxes.
Traffic lights are jumped, and people drive on the wrong side of the road to get to a side turning.
And as for anyone who stalls at a junction, fails to pull away quickly enough, or takes too long to get into or out of a parking space, my goodness dont they get honked at!
Speed limits are treated as guidelines only.
What is the matter with Wycombe drivers? Good polite drivers are so hard to find - are the rest morons or something?
What difference does it make if you let a car out of a side turning once in a while, or wait ten seconds while someone crosses the road or pulls out of a garage?
How much of a delay does this really cause? Does it really insult your ego so much that you cannot bear it? And if you feel you cant afford to delay for half a minute, doesnt this tell you that you should have set out earlier, rather than driving like a maniac?
What we need is an Association of Courteous Drivers who will undertake to show some courtesy and consideration to others.
Any volunteers?
