AN after school club has been praised for its work looking after children.

The 'Just Kidding' club, based at Spruce Hill Baptist Church in Brookscroft Road, Walthamstow, was described as having a caring and happy environment by education watchdog Ofsted following an inspection last month.

Rating the club 'good' overall, it said staff were very hard-working and enthusiastic, adding that the provision for children's well-being was outstanding.

The club opened in 2007 and was previously only rated 'satisfactory' by Ofsted.

The report said: "Children are very happy, enthusiastic learners and quickly grow in self-confidence because of the excellent relationships with staff, and the interesting experiences provided to them each day after school.

"Staff promote children's physical development highly successfully, so that children make very good progress in understanding the importance of good health and physical exercise."
