SCOOTER enthusiasts are riding into the West End to raise money for charity today.

Around 25 owners of vintage scooters will make the four-hour round trip to Leicester Square and back this afternoon (Thursday) to collect money for Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green.

The Foresters Scooter Club hopes to donate more than £100 after the journey.

Member George Jay, 46, will be one of the group, taking his vintage Vespa on the road.

He said: “It’s a really fun day that we do twice a year, and it’s a good way to raise money for an important charity.

“It’s a nice ride when you take your scooter and hopefully we can donate around £150, which is what we got this time last year.”

The club will return to The County Arms in Hale End Road, HIghams Park, for a drink, after completing the ride at about 3pm.
