A man has suffered “life-changing” injuries after being stabbed in an attempted robbery this morning.

The man, believed to be 30, had surgery in hospital today after the attack in Grove Green Road, Leytonstone, at around 5am.

Police were called by the hospital to inform them of the attack and no arrests have yet been made.

They have not released details of the injury but confirmed the man is no longer in a critical condition.

A police spokeswoman asked anyone with any information about the incident to call them on 101.

A spokesman said more details are expected to be released tomorrow.
