A sixth man has been arrested over a video posted online showing a man being subjected to homophobic abuse by self-styled "Muslim vigilantes".

The 20-year-old was taken into custody at his home in "east London" on Tuesday and has now been bailed, the Met today revealed.

The clip was uploaded to earlier this month with the title "Muslim vigilantes in London harass and taunt gay male".

Police say they do not know where the video was filmed or when.

But officers from Tower Hamlets are investigating and reports have suggested that the gang is based in Whitechapel.

A 17-year-old boy from Walthamstow is among the other five men arrested.

They were seized on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and public order offences and are all now on bail.

Further details have not been released by the Met.

Another video seemingly uploaded by the group shows them shouting abuse at a different man for drinking alcohol.
