An orchestra is set to perform a concerto with a rising violinist star later this month.

Forest Philharmonic will play the Sibelius Violin Concerto with musician Edgar Bailey at Walthamstow Assembly Hall in Forest Road, Walthamstow, from 6.30pm on Sunday, February 17.

Before that, members of the orchestra will perform duets for couples dining at the William Morris Gallery on Valentine’s Day between 6.40pm and 7.30pm.

Couples can view the gallery accompanied by the musicians before their dinner.

Tickets for the concert cost £15 and £10 and are available from tickets@forestphilharmonic.org.uk.

A violin is not just a violin and a piano is not just a piano and I urge all like minded violin and piano stalwarts to attend as these type of performances could disappear overnight in a recession.

Forest Philharmonic is one of this borough's cultural treasures. And no, I'm not a player! just an enraptured listener.

Note that this story mentions two different chances to hear them, on Thursday 14 Feb and Sunday 17 Feb, and the contact is tickets@forestphilha
