Emmy winning composer and arranger John Altman will perform at a Leytonstone pub on Tuesday.

Saxophonist Mr Altman will be accompanied by his big band for the show, which takes place at the Heathcote Arms in Grove Green Road from 8.30pm.

The concert is organised by the East Side Jazz Club, which was previously based at the Lord Rookwood pub in Cann Hall Road before it mysteriously and suddenly closed last month.

The club is still looking for a new permanent home.

Mr Altman has helped arrange hits such as 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' for the film Monty Python's Life of Brian and Aled Jones's cover of 'Walking in the Air', which he also produced.

Entry is £8 on the door.
