A busy travel route has been shut off this morning following a police incident in the early hours of this morning.

Leyton High Road, between Alexandra Road and Ruckholt Road, was closed shortly before 1am following a brawl.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said that the route remains closed in the aftermath.

He said: "Police were called to a fight on Leyton High Road at around 12.30am.

"Two men were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, neither sustained serious injuries.

"There is still a scene in place as there needed to be a clean up. No arrests have been made."

The London Ambulance Service confirmed that they received reports of an assault just after 12.30am on August 11.

A spokesperson said: "We sent two ambulance crews to the scene . 

"Our staff treated two patients before taking them to hospital."

A spokesperson for the police has confirmed that the two people taken to hospital were both victims of an assault.
