Martina Cole will join a strong list of guests already featuring Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy
A number one bestselling author has been added to the line-up of Waltham Forest’s literary festival.
Crime writer and winner of the British Book Award for Crime Thriller of the Year, Martina Cole was this week announced as the latest addition to the Words over Waltham Forest festival.
Waltham Forest’s first borough-wide literary festival, with a growing list of speakers and guest appearances, looks set to be a memorable occasion.
Councillor Ahsan Khan, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “The line-up of authors and poets for this year’s festival is growing and I am delighted to see a programme of events that include such well known names as Martina Cole, Dorothy Koomson, John Hegley and Kate O’Hearn, amongst others joining Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy for our festival to celebrate creative writing, reading and language across the borough.
“The appearance of these bestselling authors and award winning poets complements an ambitious and exciting programme of community led events and workshops".
The festival is a collaboration between Waltham Forest Council, the independent arts organisation behind the E17 Art Trail - Artillery, Waltham Forest Arts in Education Network, disability provider LDX (formerly MENCAP) and Apex Arts.
Words over Waltham Forest takes place from October 26 to November 17.
