Stoneydown Park Primary School and St Patrick's Catholic Primary School teamed up to make the mosaics
Pupils from two schools yesterday unveiled the latest artworks in a mosaics project.
Stoneydown Park Primary School, in Pretoria Street, Walthamstow, and St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, in Longfield Avenue, Walthamstow, joined forces to create the works based on endangered species.
Forming an outdoor gallery at Stoneydown Park Primary, where a new garden has also been built, the ‘Sewing the Seeds of Change’ works were funded by the Awards for All lottery fund at a cost of £9,600.
Project manager Amanda Parker, of The Creative Arts Company, said: “This has been an inspiring, intergenerational initiative which has brought together a broad range of people from local schools and community groups to create a garden and a series of artworks that all can enjoy for many years to come.”
