Hard-hitting show promotes safer driving
Teenagers were invited to an event featuring emergency services staff who deal with car crashes on a daily basis in a bid to encourage safe driving.
Safe Drive Stay Alive took place this afternoon at Chingford Assembly Hall and was attended by senior police officers, emergency services staff and a representatives from Transport for London, which sponsored the event.
The show is part of an annual campaign to promote road safety to 16 to18 year olds.
The production centres around a film showing a group of young people on a night out whose car is involved in a collision.
Members of the emergency services featured in the film then step out onto the stage and talk to the audience about their real-life experiences of crash scenes and the impact on the victims, their families and themselves.
The screening concludes with testimonies from victims of real road traffic accidents.
