Leyton man who supplied Mark Duggan with gun gives evidence
The man who was jailed for supplying Mark Duggan with a gun has given evidence at the inquest into his death today.
Kevin Hutchinson-Foster, 30, gave evidence from Maidstone Prison via video after he was jailed in January for supplying Mr Duggan with a gun in Vicarage Road, Leyton, minutes before he was driven by cab to Tottenham, where he was shot by police in August 2011.
Mr Hutchinson-Foster told the inquest he intends to appeal against his conviction, insisting he returned the gun in question to the supplier on July 29 and did not give it to Mr Duggan.
Mr Hutchinson-Foster continued to refuse to identify the person who gave him the gun.
Jurors at the inquest visited Vicarage Road last month to see the scene where Mr Duggan was said to have picked up the firearm.
The shooting of Mr Duggan led to riots across London and the rest of the country in 2011.
The inquest is being held at the Royal Courts of Justice to ascertain whether Mr Duggan was lawfully or unlawfully killed.
