CHINGFORD: Three teenagers stabbed during brawl

THREE teenagers were hospitalised after being stabbed during a vicious gang fight in Chingford.

The bleeding boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, tried to leave the scene of triple knifing, in Kings Road, on a bus, to the horror of passengers.

But the driver stopped the vehicle, and the boys went to the Larkshall Medical Centre, in Larkshall Road, for medical treatment.

Two of the boys were stabbed in the chest and the 17-year-old was wounded in the abdomen.

The 15-year-old is stable, while the other two are in a serious, but not life-threatening condition.

Janet Glanvill, 50, who works at a hairdresser's in Kings Road, described the aftermath of the horrifying attack.

She said: "I came out of work and I saw two black boys holding up quite a big mixed-race boy.

"I asked them what happened and they told me he had been stabbed.

"I also saw three black boys propping up another boy.

"They were carrying him because he couldn't walk."

Mrs Glanvill added: "There were about 20 teenagers milling around outside the bus.

"There were lots of girls as well as boys. They all looked scared.

"I have been working at the hairdresser's in Chingford for the last three years.

"It has always been quite a safe place. It has never been this rough here."

Police believe the three boys were with five friends when another group of four teenagers approached them.

One of the teenagers began arguing with the 17-year-old victim and stabbed him.

As his friends tried to help him they too were stabbed.

The culprits, all described as black and aged between 18 and 20, fled towards Hatch Lane.

The main attacker is described as lighter-skinned, and was wearing an orange bandana with a white cowboy pattern over his face.

He was also wearing a navy blue Nike jacket.

Another of the knifemen was described as about 6ft with a deep voice and slight moustache.

The incident happened on Tuesday at about 5.10pm. Nobody has been arrested and officers are keeping an open mind regarding the motive.

Anyone with information should call Waltham Forest CID on 020 8345 2376 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

i personally hope the kids get better and the people that did this locked away.

BRING BACK NATIONAL SERVICE! As a European Union country, Britain should have National Service reintroduced as practically all other EU countries have National Service. If these young people want to play with weapons, then the Army is the best place for them. What about the parents of these young people? Do they know what their children are up to? Personally I blame the whole 'Rap' culture - Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur have a lot to answer for!

I saw the police surrounding that bus yesterday and I knew someone had been stabbed. Chingford used to be a nice place to live, something needs to be done about these youths who think they live in a gangster movie.

what is the matter with the black kids? Why must they do this?

Dont they realise this minority gives the majority of very nice black people such a bad name?

What a waste of space these thugs are. Chingford never used to be a place where heartless thugs roamed our pleasant streets! Think they need a reality check to realise what goes around comes around!

There was a big debate the other night a LBC radio, about the police stopping youth and searching them. The fuss that was kicked up saying that it was wrong, well looking at this the police need to stop and search more. Whether this would deter any of them as the pelenty for carrying a knife is not strong enough for a lot of the people who carry a knife it is more of a boost to thier status if they spend a few months in jail. My view is if you carry a knife you intend to use it. How sad for these boy's and thier families to be caught up in the selfishness of pride. I hope they recover well.

Remember that gangland culture has existed in the East End of London for many years. After all Chingford plays host to Ronnie and Reggie Kray who along with their gang of gangsters became some the most the notorious in London. They along with rival gangs seem to be accepted and even aspired too as hero’s amongst our communities; because “they were good gangsters who helped poor people, they never extorted money, attacked, threatened or killed anyone who didn’t deserve it. They kept the Streets of East London safe, things like this never happened in Chingford”. No because the it was criminal underworld that controlled the crime on London streets, just as they do today. Yes! gang culture exists it always has and Yes! it is unacceptable, whether it appears to people that it’s “only black kids that are doing this” history speaks for itself.

After reading stories like this I am beginning to understand now why more and more people are turning to more radical parties like the BNP....I have always hated the idea of these people running the country, but surely it has to be better than the hoodies, gangs and worst of all the political correcties.

FreeSpirit, to compare the Krays to the thugs we have roaming the streets now is ridiculous. There is a world of difference between them. First of all, these thugs are disorganised, mindless thugs who roam the streets causing petty yet violent crimes on anyone their cowardice allows them to attack. The Krays set up an organisation, which could be violent, but on the whole was more of a business which involved extortion, racketeering and protection services. They would not randomly walk around stabbing people for their pocket change. I doubt that everyone thinks that 'only black kids are doing this', but statistics clearly show that the majority of knife attacks are caused by young black males. Rather than stirring up a racist witch hunt, it'd be more productive for everyone involved if we can address the issue of why this is, as while the majority of knife offenders are black, they represent only a small percentage of the overall black community who do not deserve to be thrown in the same boat as these idiots.
