FIRE crews were called to a Walthamstow shop after a slurpy machine caught fire.
The incident happened at about 6.30pm last night in Kenilworth Avenue, near Forest Road, at Cut Price Off Licence.
Eyewitness Rupert Hitchcox, 37, a photographer, of Wood Street, said: "The police and fire crew were the first on the scene.
"It was more a case of heavy smoke rather than damage to the shop itself."
A fireman at the scene confirmed the slurpy machine as the cause.
It is believed no one was injured during the incident and no major damage was caused to the shop.
