MORE than 150 women attended an event to celebrate International Women's Day on Saturday.
The event at Walthamstow Academy, in Billet Road, was hosted by Waltham Forest Women's Network (WFWN) and featured guest speakers including Stella Creasy, Labour prospective candidate for Walthamstow, and Green MEP Jean Lambert.
The event also saw a launch of the WFWN website, which provides support and advice for women.
Jean Lambert said: “As a Waltham Forest resident myself, it was fantastic to see such a diverse community come together to celebrate the wonderful achievements of women, to meet with some of the borough’s very own talented female residents and to applaud the tireless work of the Waltham Forest Women’s Network.”
