£3.5m investment promised as part of legacy of 2012 Paralympics

A TOTAL of £3.5 million has been earmarked for the development of sports for the disabled, as part of the legacy of the 2012 Paralympic Games.
Sport England will invest £1.5 million in the English Federation of Disability Sport to try to increase the number of people with disabilities taking part in sports.
The remaining £2 million of National Lottery funding will be made available to nine disability sports organisations.
Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell said the plans would increase employment opportunities and develop a greater appreciation of disability issues.
A further £8m has been allocated to disability sports over the next two years by Sport England.

The paralympic events should be held within the main olympics. It would also mean that visitors and the crowd see that the UK doesnt segregate people just because they are not fully able bodied.

What have we seen of the Paralympics from Vancouver on our screens?
It is a insult to those athletes who have trained as hard as the able bodied that they are treated as second class.
