WALTHAMSTOW: Man murdered yards from scene of recent killing

A MAN has been stabbed to death yards from where a tourist was murdered two weeks ago.

The 32-year-old victim, who has not been named, was found with stab wounds at 11.55pm on Saturday in Gillards Mews, off High Street, Walthamstow.

He was rushed to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, but died at 5.38am yesterday.

Police are trying to trace the owner of a white burger van, which was parked in the street near to where the victim was found.

A post-mortem gave the cause of death as multiple injuries to the head and chest.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Sunday and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The latest killing happened a short distance from where Grenadan tourist Kelvin Francis was murdered on March 7.

Mr Francis was found bleeding to death outside the Captain Fish and Chip Shop, in High Street.

David Kazim, 23, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder and will appear at the Old Bailey on June 18.

Lisa Donegan 21, of Lordship Lane in Wood Green, is accused of perverting the cause of justice and will appear alongside him.

This is really shocking. Walthamstow doesn't need its own 'Murder Mile'. Police need more power and less paper work

no police have got enough power they need to do better jobs
in this day and age because of all of this knife crime has got so bad you can stop who you want when you want but for some chupid reason they don't
enough is enough
they mainly target black youts
me being a black yout myself i think its a good thing stats are stats but when other crimes are going on and most of di time you only stop black youts enough is enough

I think the Guardian ought to ask their recent correspondent, Hazel Ford (The Avenue E4) who wrote 2 weeks ago "I find everything in Walthamstow absolutely lovely", lah di dah - trill, trill, Gathering buds in May, la, la!
It's idiots like that who wear rose coloured glasses, or blinkers, who are to blame.
By the way, Spacefan09 how on earth did you go through education with such awful spelling ability? There are at least 8 spelling errors and grammatical mistakes in your 'post'.

I agree, your message was compleely clear. This is why there is so much hidden racism and victimisation amongs the black youths, because people just mis- understanding youth culture. Redfox who are you to judge wether or not someone has had an education You need to grow up. Every one has a right to express themeselves!
What is happening in Waltham Forest? it's a mess.

Yout

Short for youth. A no good pikee (seepikeys) who spends his time abusing, threatening and trying to look hard. This behaviour is only exhibited when pikeys are in groups of 5 or more, as they lack confidence and physical presence to behave such on their own.

A GRIMEY yout behaves similarly but may in fact have the physical presence, or carry a pocket knife to be considered a threat.

Says it all really.
i don't mean to be rude but please no what you are talking about thats just the political term...
yout means yout.h. and im sure you no what that is.

Murder has been committed and someone decides to give english lessons. A bit like the people that run our country: divert attention away from serious issues to less serious ones.

Once we can communicate then we can consider a way to resolve the matter in hand.

This story deserves a serious response. The police have enough powers but I do not believe that the problem can be solved just by policing methods alone. In the past police have acted in a heavy-handed way to black youths in particular. Bad relationships reached a peak under the old sus laws, which were abolished after the city riots in the early 1980s. So if they are going to stop and search they need to be sensitive and even-handed and consciously not make victims of black kids in particular.
If as a society we really want to tackle street violence and people being the victims of murder, sometimes for what most of us would see as petty reasons, then society has a big job on its hands. A recent book called The Spirit Level by Richard Wilson and Kate Picket proved fairly conclusively that more equal societies almost always do better at any social indicator you care to name. Britain is the most unequal society of the developed west, apart from the USA.

Racism, spelling and grammar, inequality...yawn!

This is about a murder. I can't wait to see what sentence the murderer receives. A few hours of community service?

RIP

A reaction from a reactionary I see. What sentence should they get? Do you seriously think they will get a few hours community service? I was trying to broaden the discussion out but I can see that some people want to reduce it all down to Daily Mail reaction and slogans. The USA locks up the most people and executes more than any other developed country. Does this reduce crime? No it doesn't. It doesn't reduce crime in general or murder in the states that have the death penalty more than the ones that don't. So how do we reduce crime then? I know, lets ask the Daily Mail and the other tabloids to help us. Even better, let's ask peeg, I'm sure peeg has got the answers.

There's a knifing so people start about the 'youths'. The victim was 32, the arrested guy is 23. And the fact the police made an arrest this quickly suggests this could be a personally motivated attack, not some random stabbing.

It seems to me as soon as a black guy,Youth or older gets stopped and searched.Everyone screams that the police are picking on blacks.I have been stopped and searched many times, I am white Cockney. Do i scream they are picking on me because i am Cockney, NO i dont mind, as i want the guilty people caught. There is an old saying i was taught .FROM LITTLE ACORNS GREAT OAKS GROW. A lot of todays youths get away with petty crime, and go onto bigger things. And most of the ones who complain about stop and search, are the guilty ones who carry knives. Give the police more power, and stop politicians and human rights preachers, stopping them from catching the murderers

you are right...to an extent alot of us use the race card too much but when police don't stop the right people it kinda makes it a no win situation.
I think if they stopped everyone bar pensioners it would help ?
i would say alot of these times girls are too blame aswell
i see alot of black men getting white women too hold there weapons and drugs

Firstly i didn't mention anything about capital punishment. Secondly why compare us to the USA? The UK being a small island nation with a population of just over 60 million compared to the most powerful country on the planet with over 300 million people. Your comparisons are worthless.
Anyway i agree with ITISMEAGAIN. But then i could understand why the many innocent black youths feel frustrated at how the police handle stop and searches.
If you want some answers stevewhite; more police out on the streets, tougher sentencing, scrap early release and make prison life tough! Thats a start or would we be infringing upon their human rights?

What does that exactly mean
"black men getting white women to hold their weapons and drugs".
Surely it is those women who choose to hold it for them. Lets not forget who makes the guns in the first place and how, although they talk about gun crime, the selling of guns is a business, in which some governing powers buy into..(REALITY CHECK) All I know that I live in a society that will never be equal and fair, because those in higher power, want there to be disruption. So that they can place some come of order that would satisfy their goal. Control.
The only way this society will ever change, is if they wake up and see the truth for what it really is. There is a hierarchy, some of us will always be at the top, and others will always at the bottom. Unless us citizens decide that we have enough of this unfair justice, nothing will ever happen. Unless we work on developing stronger community relations.
