A FUN day packed full of African drumming, salsa lessons, open mic sessions and DJs will be coming to Walthamstow this weekend.

The day will be kicking off from 1pm until 6pm on Sunday at the Peter May Sports Centre, on Wadham Road. It has been organised by charitable organisation 100 Black Men of London with the aim of providing entertainment for local commuities and families.

Bevis Gooden, who has helped organise the event, said: “We held our first event last year. It went really well so we wanted to do it again. There will be something for everyone. There will be an open mic sessions open to everyone. And we will have local salsa teachers taking dance classes. The health and wellbeing sessions will give peopel a chance to get some advice about eating and exercise. And there will be a tug-of-war for everyone to join in.”

There will also be a BBQ jerk chicken and food for sale, face painting and craft tables, singing performances, a fire engine display, bouncy castles, and traditional West Indian Anansi stories by Uncle Eddie.

Entrance is £5 for adults and £1 for children.
