LEYTONSTONE: Police in the dark over daylight knife attack

POLICE still do not know why a 50-year-old man was stabbed by a gang in broad daylight in a busy street.

The victim was knifed twice in the back and once in his side outside Iceland in High Road, Leytonstone, at 6pm on Wednesday, September 1.

Police say up to 15 people are thought to have been involved in the attack on the man, who has now been released from hospital.

A 16-year-old boy has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The attack followed a spate of stabbings in Leytonstone in recent months, which saw a specialist unit drafted in last month to tackle gang-related violence.

It sounds like some kind of sick gang initiation. Poor man, seems like he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
You only have to glance at these young fools and they want to kill you.
