A CHARITY bake sale has raised more than £1,000 for the victims of the Pakistan floods.
Farhana Ali, 24, of Cathall Road, Leytonstone, set up the sale of cakes at Tesco in Gainsborough Road where she works part time.
She said the sale on Sunday was a success and they raised £1,383 on the day.
"We had nothing left it was that good. People were coming up to us and saying it was a fabulous idea.
"We were really shocked at how well it went.
"We raised about £660 through the cake sale and the rest through donations in buckets.
"I want to say a big thank you to everybody who donated. People were really generous.
"We are hoping to get to £2,000 through donations from family and friends over the next couple of weeks."
