POLICE are hunting a Walthamstow Market trader who failed to attend court after being accused of mugging a man.
Martin Ters, 19, is alleged to have stolen a mobile phone from a 40-year-old pedestrian in July last year.
Police say he approached the victim in Milton Road, Walthamstow.
He is then accused of chasing him along Tower Hamlets Road before finally grabbing the phone.
Ters was arrested shortly afterwards and was charged with robbery in early November.
He was due to appear at Waltham Forest Magistrates Court on Thursday November 18 but failed to turn up.
Ters, who is originally from Romania, is known to work on stalls at Walthamstow Market and is believed to live in the area.
A police spokesman said: "Anyone with any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact PC Steve Lewis at the Wanted Offenders Unit on 0208 345 2306.
"If you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

They must be so perplexed: who would not jump at the chance to clear their reputation?
And have they only just noticed?
