CHINGFORD: Still no date for 'peacemaker' inquest

THE grieving family of a man who was killed trying to break up a fight are still waiting for his inquest to be held - despite originally being told it would happen in November.

David Joslin, 23, was knocked unconscious as he intervened in an argument between a group in Old Church Road, Chingford, just before Christmas in 2009.

He died of head injuries in hospital eight days later.

His killer remains at large despite repeated pleas from his brave family for witnesses to come forward.

The family were hoping to get some answers surrounding the circumstances of his death at an inquest, which was initially scheduled to take place in November.

But a last-minute postponement and on-going behind-the-scenes wrangling have left the family frustrated.

David's mother Margaret Joslin, of Kimberley Road, Chingford, said: "We were sent a letter three weeks ago telling us a date would be set 'soon' but we've heard nothing.

"I'm not blaming the coroner because we want a thorough job to be done but it's very difficult for us not even knowing when it will happen.

"It's upsetting as all the way through things have gone wrong.

"Life is still hard even though it's been two years. What makes it worse is his low-life killers are still out there. I don't understand how they can live with themselves."
