PEDAL power is set to boost a Whipps Cross Hospital appeal.
Cyclists are getting ready for a 100km bike ride of London at night in aid of The Big Push maternity appeal.
The Nightrider Open Challenge, which takes place on June 19, starts at 11pm in Crystal Palace and finishes the following morning in Crystal Palace after a circle of the city.
The Whipps Cross team includes a mix of staff, former patients and their friends.
Tricia Handley, Claire Davis, Mina Patel, Midwife Jo Naylor, former midwife Sarah Leach, whose two children were born at the Leytonstone hospital, and Caramel Quin, who also gave birth to her two children at the hospital, will take part.
The team have been training for three months and hope to finish the 65-mile circuit in just under ten hours.
The maternity unit needs to raise money for essential equipment and the appeal aims to raise £350,000.
The riders are hoping to raise £3,000 between them.
