A WALK has been arranged to take in one of Walthamstow's oldest shopping streets.
The free guided walk is entitled Wood Street - A Street of Surprises.
Wood Street is one of Walthamstow's oldest shopping streets; its shops once served the wealthy residents who lived in large houses near the forest.
Wood Street also once had film studios and today the street is a mosaic of the past and the present where a couple of remarkable 18th century survivors co-exist with buildings from the Victorian era as well as with post-war buildings.
The walk takes place on Saturday July 10 at 2pm.
Meet outside Wood Street Library, on the corner of Forest Road and Wood Street, Walthamstow.
