AGE Concern needs your help to knit 8,000 woolly hats by the end of September.
The Waltham Forest branch of Age Concern is supporting The Big Knit 2010 by knitting little woolly hats.
From early November the hats will sit on top of smoothie drinks sold in Sainsbury's supermarkets and for each smoothie sold 25p will go to the charity to help fund winter warmth projects.
Age Concern Waltham Forest has been tasked with knitting 8,000 hats by September 28 and is after help from people of all ages who are handy with a needle and thread, or wool in this case.
Knitters can contact Age Concern Waltham Forest to get a hat pattern and if you don’t fancy making a hat, wool and needles can be donated to help others reach their target.
For more information contact Emma Tozer on 020 8 558 5512 or log onto www.ageconcernwf.org.uk.
