Households who are subject to the 'bedroom tax' only have a few weeks left to appeal.

Households are exempt if they have lived continuously in their property since January 1996 and have been in receipt of housing benefit during that time. It does not matter how much housing benefit they have received. Even if they only received a few pounds a week, as long as it has been continuous, they are exempt.

A bedroom is not a bedroom when it is a study, an art room, a sewing room, a storage space etc or is completely empty. A bedroom is a bedroom when it contains a bed and is in excess of 70 sq ft.

Bedroom size and bedroom use is very important. These facts are solid grounds for appeal.
