What planet is Katy Andrews living on? (Guardian, March 6).

Perhaps she has too much time or money but as a mum of three young boys I can tell you that I have very little time and rely on the free council paper to keep me up to date with what’s going on for me and my family.

Frankly, it’s a godsend and my boys would never have found out about the free swimming the council funds for under 18s (and over 60s and people with disabilities).

I voted Lib Dem at the last election, but never again.

I’ve been appalled at the reported £70million cuts to grants locally.

Yet fair play to the council, they’ve managed to continue delivering excellent services – even keeping the weekly bin collection, unlike other London boroughs.

And I’m sorry Katy, but freezing the council tax is brilliant as far as I’m concerned.

I have to watch every penny, so while you might be alright, some of us are struggling.

From the sound of your court case, you don’t want to pay your way and are happy for the rest of us to suffer as a result.
