What a thoughtless decision it was to turn off the street lights in Epping at midnight. Two weeks ago, I came out of Epping station and tried to get a taxi from there to my house, but there was a 40-minute wait, so I decided to walk. I was extremely nervous at having to walk home in the pitch dark, a journey of just over 10 minutes, and councillors need to remember that the tubes run well past midnight; street lights should at least be left on until the last tube has arrived at the station.
