Anne Sachs' comments reveal her confusion about the Godhead. I am relieved that she accepts that Elohim is a masculine plural noun. The context always determines how it is translated. So, when the true God (in the Hebrew Bible, the God of Israel) is referred to, the word is translated God in English. When it is used of pagan gods, it is then translated as gods in the plural, using a lower case "g". Any study of the Bible shows that God is referred to as male.

Far from "privatising God," I simply accept the authority of the whole Bible. Anne Sachs refers to Jesus' human nature being male. This is true, and because of His claim of full Deity, there is no conflict with the Old Testament's declaration of plurality in the Godhead.
