Alan Haymes is a member of Redbridge Roundabout Action Group, who recently started a petition urging Redbridge council to install traffic lights and conduct an investigation into Redbridge Roundabout.

He is concerned about the slow moving traffic in and around the roundabout, which he believes has serious health implications for residents and the potential for more fatal accidents on the roundabout.

Does it take somebody to die for action to be taken!

This explains exactly the dangers and problems that happen every single day for motorists entering Redbridge Roundabout from Redbridge Lane East, it's very frightening and extremely time consuming. TfL aren't bothered as long as the A12, A406 and M11 keep moving. The petition is gaining momentum so it's up to us as local residents to support it so that it can be debated by Redbridge Council.

We have been working with the Council regarding this to see what can be done to alleviate this problem. The responsibility for the traffic lights is with TFL. We have been in touch with Roger Evans our GLA Member regarding traffic lights and also changing the timing of the lights so that they allow more time for drivers to access the roundabout. Roger Evans is taking this matter up ion our behalf and hopefully we will get the result that we all want.

Trying to access Redbridge roundabout any time day or night is a total nightmare. You take your life in your hands every time you try to join the roundabout from Redbridge Lane East.

There is always Mr or Ms Impatient behind you making you feel as though you have to chance it and move out and this is extremely dangerous.

This issue has been going on for many years and it is about time this was sorted out before someone gets killed.

I try to avoid Redbridge Lane East as much as possible and go the long way round via Eastern Avenue whenever I need to cross the roundabout.
