It is understandable the stallholders being up in arms about the Monday market in Epping being cancelled on the day the Tour de France passes through the town.

Is there nobody on the council with an ounce of common sense? What is wrong with closing roads half an hour before the race is due and after it has passed? This would mean a one hour and fifteen minute break in trading.

For anyone to think that Epping will be in the national and international spotlight is dreaming. TV cameras following the race will be in and out of Epping in 20 minutes at the most and nobody watching will have noticed that is has been through a vibrant market town.
