Well said Cllr John Filby (Speaking Out, Guardian, April 3).
Buckhurst Hill also has its share of dog unpleasantness. The new trick seems to be the ‘walk-on doggie owner’. In other words, when Fido is taken short in a public place the dog owner pulls the dog along on the lead and keeps walking, pretending not to notice what the dog is doing. Result; instead of being in one heap (bad enough on a public footpath or pavement), the mess is strung along at intervals and no attempt is made to clear it - as seen in Kings Avenue/Palmerston Road.
Thanks Cllr Filby, you speak for all of us (except the dog owners who think that the rest of us enjoy picking our way among scattered excrement in public places).
