The noise from London City Airport affects all of Newham, most of East London and large parts of south London.
The creation of an international jet airport amongst pre-existing housing is unique in Western Europe, airports always being built on the edge of cities as it is unacceptable to build where people live.
The Newham Labour Party has constantly ignored what is obviously a bad idea despite Newham residents expressing that it is a bad idea.
The situation is well summed up by mayoral candidate Stefan Mrozinski on his website: "Sir Robin Wales and his Labour councillors have pushed through planning application after planning application, betraying local residents again and again."
That this occurs in a borough where Labour is so strongly supported only strengthens the case for voting against Labour in the June council and mayoral elections.
