With regard to the letter by Cllr Stallan (UKIP fails to raise housing problems, June 26).

Housing is just one of a large number of concerns in the Waltham Abbey area that I have to deal with on a daily basis, it is not the one and only problem.

I was the first and only UKIP councillor elected in last year's by-election, hence there were none of the normal training courses available to help me.

The Conservative group offered me no assistance or support whatsoever, although I did get help and encouragement from the officers of Epping council.

I have attended planning, safer cleaner greener, council and cabinet meetings during the past year in spite of being hospitalised, experiencing a bereavement and having no formal training made available to me.

As Conservative councillors are often missing from meetings I can only assume that Cllr Stallan's continued personal attacks on me are politically motivated and were initiated when UKIP took the two important seats in this year's district council elections.

This behaviour is not the action of a good councillor but more a case of sour grapes from Conservative Cllr Stallan which makes voting for UKIP all the more attractive.

The 2014 district council elections are over and we now have two UKIP councillors working hard in the area and attending all training courses offered by the council.

It's shame Cllr Stallan was not at the council run course this weekend where we learnt about the expected standard of behaviour of councillors.
The course did indicate that it is not in order to go slagging other councillors off, something that Cllr Stallan seems to enjoy.

Please excuse me, but I now have some councillor visits to make and I hope that Cllr Stallan gets back work and does the job he is supposed to do instead of criticising others.
