There is an illness abroad wonderfully composed of earthquakes, eruptions and tremors.
Epilepsy – the malady that dares not speak its name.
The blind, wizened, obstreperous step-sister of conventional illness.
Just recently East Sussex’s ‘finest’ were called to a man suffering a seizure in Haywards Heath.
They pepper-sprayed him, wrestled him to the ground and three of them sat on his chest. The man died, of course.
And in Colchester, a young lady was walking her dog in a park when she suffered a seizure.
When she came round, she saw two men standing over her laughing at the blood from her bitten tongue and the fact that she had wet herself.
They were holding camera phones inches from her face, taking ‘selfies’.
The park was busy at the time, but no-one came to help her.
Essex Police said they are not investigating as no crime has been committed.
The young lady lying there bleeding and helpless with two thugs standing over her thought it might have been a crime.
