Open letter to David Cameron and Nick Clegg:

We write to you as very concerned citizens living under your governance.

Over 1,000 Palestinians have been brutally murdered in Gaza. The majority of those murdered are innocent civilians, which include hundreds of children and women.

Thousands have been maimed and injured. Houses, land and livelihoods of thousands have been cruelly taken away from them.

Hospitals, schools and even so-called safe UN shelters have been bombed and destroyed. There have been so many killings and injustices and yet we see our government silent, not even condemning the aggressor state of Israel for its act of terror and war crimes.

On the other hand, our government has encouraged Israel by continuously singing the words that their spin doctors have coined: “Israel has a right to defend itself”.

We ask you, leaders of our nation, is our stance on this matter legitimate and morally correct?

Before anyone proceeds to blame the Hamas rockets – which we must stress we completely  oppose – let us ask you that when someone says “Israel has a right to defend itself and its lands”, are we saying that it is perfectly legitimate for the thief to protect the goods he has stolen from their rightful owner with whatever means? Is this justice?

The land that Israel is claiming to defend belongs to the Palestinian people. It was stolen from them. We all know of this great land robbery.

Our government is blaming the Hamas rockets for the killings in Gaza. We would like to question both of you.

If someone was to steal and grab our land, homes and livelihoods, what would the response of our government be?
Would it be a white flag of surrender? Is this what we did in the Falklands when Argentina invaded the islands? Did we not send forces to take back what was ours? Were our forces terrorists or heroes and freedom fighters?

The Palestinian people have been blamed for choosing Hamas as their government.

Again, whilst we oppose rockets being fired into Israel, very little has been said about the embargo placed on the Palestinians causing great suffering. This will increase their sense of panic.

It seems that our government has accepted the murder of the Palestinian children. Can we accept the words of Mr Netanyahu and his ministers that the Hamas uses children as shields?

There have been many incidents where children have been killed and injured. This is an easy get-out clause to say the children were human shields, yet photo evidence shows otherwise.

We appeal to you as fellow human beings to please come out from this at least silence and at worse blind support of murder and terror and help to make this very cruel world a better and safer place to live for all.
